I gotcha. I'd be a bit steamed if I got 100$ worth of send backs too. At least he didn't get burned on a lefty rifle with a bad chamber like I did.
Have you ever done any brissance and soot testing with primers?? My father and I did many moons ago when we were trying to get a cleaner burn on our 30-30 pistols(tc). Every primer had enough gumption to toss flame the length of the 10" barrel, and they were only standard lr primers.
If a mag primer is used, it will envelop the powder with so much flame it won't really matter where it comes from other than arriving at the same time every shot. If your seating depth and flash hole diameter are similar for all rounds, there will be no real difference.
By the way, as far as cleanliness, the fed and win primers won hands down, with cci the worst and rem in the middle.

ive dealt with inconsistant remington brass a ended up selling a 338 rum for the sole reason of the brass maybe not being "junk" but you could definately see it from there. the price seems to go up every year but the quality stands fast. i currently only use norma or lapua brass and am more than happy to pay the extra.

Anyone try the Federal Brass for the 300 RUM? Bought some about 6 months ago but still running the Remy with good results. Just found my load and am afraid to use the Federal as it may change things.

In the last 10 years, I've used over 2300 new Remington .300 RUM brass for .300 RUM and .338 EDGE cartridges.None had flash holes that were off center. There were 8 in the last box of 500 that were dented on the shoulder enough that they split when expanded to .338. A phone call to Midway got a box of 20 to replace the defective ones. Great customer service! I have also used Nosler. It looks better. All the cases were neck turned. The Remington shoots the best groups in my rifles,it's cheaper, and the primer pockets last longer. I have not tried Federal or Norma. I use Lapua in 2 other rifles and really like it, but they don't shoot any better than the rifles shooting Remington brass. These rifles are customs capable of one-half moa or better. Gary

I did not think to take some photos, but I have already mailed them back to Sinclair for a refund.

I'm glad sinclair is taking care of you. Good luck with your rifle by the way.
