Reloading 40 S&w M.p

I got some information for the 180 grain bullet using 2400 @ 10.5 at max i think. I got the load right out of the book from accurate powders i think.. i know its on the site also.. anyway i tried to load this and my bullet would not seat because of the powder. well im going to call them. 3 other reloaders also viewed this happening. so i ended up completly not using the 2400 and got some unique off my uncle. i shot 100 rounds of 180 grain hornady xtp they shot very nice! even a llittle under 50 yards they shot nice. put it this way the police use this weapon around my area and i wouldnt want to be a criminal gettin shot at with the 40

WW Super-Field is (or was) the powder of choice for the .40 S&W.

dave1,
Lewis wasn't asking, just telling you that WSF is a "primo" powder for the .40SW. I used to load the 155gn Speer Gold Dot for my XD40 using 7.6-7.8gn of Unique, WSP and OAL 1.135". Velocities were 1207/1218/1196.
This particular load is the reason that I sold my .357 Magnum revolver. The .40 with it's 4" barrel and 155gn bullets was just as fast as the .357 revolver with a 6" barrel pushing 158 gn reloads (Remington JHP). Velocities for the revolver were 1247/1300/1306. Average 1207 for the auto and 1284 for the revolver.
Another good load I used personal defense was the 165gn Speer Gold Dot ahead of 10.2gn of Alliant Blue Dot and WSP's.
By the way, you mentioned 2400 powder, that's Alliant's not Accurate's powder. Accurate Arms has a 2700 but it's a rifle powder. Please don't confuse the two.
The .40S&W is a great round! I would love to have a 10mm in a 1911 or XD frame with 5" barrel. That would literally "ROCK".....JohnnyK.

dave,
Check out www.hodgdonpowder.com. There you can find reloading info on Hodgdon, IMR and Winchester powders. Pretty neat site, lots of info.....JohnnyK.
