redding neck bushing die

I am going to get a redding bushing neck sizer for 7mm STW. What i would like to know is do i get 0.001 or 0.002 or 0.003 under size bushing. I got a custom lee neck die after 50 cases the cap on top striped out so here is hunting and know die. The loaded round neck is 0.310 so you redding guys do i get the 0.002 under size ? I would start with .003" grip on the bullet, and maybe order one for .004" as well. The recoil is pretty bad with the 7mmSTW, so you may want as much as .005" tension on the bullet. Otherwise the recoil may drive the bullets deeper in the case while they are in the magazine. Not a very good thing to happen!

Essentially brass necks will stretch only so much and then reach their elastic limit and holding ability. In my tests that has been .002" and others have said .015". IOW if you size a case neck down .002" or .005" and pull the bullets the necks will always return to .002" below caliber for ID on either one.

For that reason I like to size with a bushing or reduced Lee mandrel to .003" below just to get below that threshold and have a consistant grip.

There have been some excellent threads lately on this. I will search and try to find.
