Pulling bullets with wire cutters vs accuracy

Pulled some bullets using wire cutters and press. So bullets were scared with wire cutter marks,do you think that destroys bullet accuracy ? I was thinking once it makes its trip down the bbl the scars are smoothed out by the rifling ?

Re: Pulling bullets with wire cutters vs accuracy

I would think the cutters squashed them somewhat, and now they are unbalanced.

I would throw them away.

You needed to have used this puller:

It's on sale at Impact Bullet Puller
for 11 bucks or so.

There are many other types of bullet pullers but more expensive. The one above is the one
I use.

Amazing how us old guys learned a lot over the years!
AND the money we spent trying to solve a number of
problems that we have had in the past 45 years!

Those inertia hammers are junk. You have to pad the inside so the bullet doesn't deform.
On a crimped light bullet you will beat through the basement floor. Get the Hornady
cam puller and never look back.
