Powder funnel for 338 Allen Mag

Looking for a funnel big enough for
this case. The rcbs funnel I have doesn't
cut it. I have been having to stick a straw
through the funnel to get enough distance
between the bottom of the funnel and
The case shoulder.

Re: Powder funnel for 338 Allen Mag

I'm not familiar with the case dimensions of the 338 Allen mag, but I had a similar issue with a 300WSM. The funnel I had contacted the shoulder before it would "seal off" on the neck. My solution was to take a box cutter and carefully trim up the plastic funnel. Once shortened, it works great. Not sure if this will work for you or not, but thought I would pass it along.

Good luck

Thanks, I'm not sure if that would work or not
I might have to trim to much as there
is some distance between there before it would touch.
I use this funnel for .223 up to 338 edge so I don't
want to lose that ability. Then again that might work, but
I can't look at it now, as I'm out If town working.

I did have to go to two funnels. If you are shooting 338Edge and 338 Allen Mag I would hope a new $7 funnel won't cramp your style too much! What is that equivalent to, about 3 rounds down the pipe?

I am jealous of your fancy toys!

Satern aluminum funnel works great with .338 edge brass. The funnels are caliber specific, but you never have static cling and if you ever use one you will not go back to plastic. Gary

X2 on Satern powder funnels. Like was already mentioned, they are caliber specific so you'll need one for all the different calibers you reload for which sorta sucks but they are the best funnel I've ever been around.

As a side not, if you're using a plastic funnel and you're getting static cling, wipe it down with a dryer sheet and you'll have no more static cling. This works especially well on powder measurers too.

Re: Powder funnel for 338 Allen Mag

Thanks guys, I will be looking into their funnels.

Static cling has never been a problem with my plastic
funnel but it has with my rcbs charge master. I read on
the 6br daily bulletin about an aresol spray that is suppose to
elimate this. I would think you are better off eliminating all stactic
electric charges interfering around an electronic scale to get the scales
highest accuacy potential.
