Picture of damage 140 grain Berger VLD

I said I would post picture of how those 140 grain Berger VLD Hunting bullets perform on my wife Mule Deer hunt. These picture show that those Berger work!. My wife shot a nice Buck this morning at 241 yards with my 264 Winchester magnum. The load was:
Retumbo
Winchester Brass
Federal 215M
COAL 3.300
71.5 grains
Velocity 3,215 fps
group .185
in both picture you can see the damage, the buck drop just like in those Greybull precision videos. the top picture show the entrance hole and bottom picture show the heart(what left) and lungs.

Keep in mind the animals we shoot for food and display are not bullet proof. Contrary to popular belief, they bleed and die just like they did a hundred years ago. Being competent with a given rifle is far more important than impressive ballistics and poor shootability. High velocity misses never put a steak in the freezer.
