Need powder dispenser advice
OK so I have been milling over this for 6+ months. I am having issues with my RCBS powder dispenser scale combo. Its the older model and RCBS says they don't service it anymore, I don't trust it any more.
But what to replace it with? Another RCBS, Hornady etc.... I don't know anyone who has an electric combo like I do to compare it to. None of my drop tubes will work for the longer stick powders like H1000.
I need some advice on what your using for your loads? What should I trust?

Re: Need powder dispenser advice
I haven't heard anything bad about the new rcbs unit from the folks that actually have one. I have the pact II, I like mine. Since I tend to load in smaller batches I set the charge weight to 0.1gr lower and use the dispense button to trickle it up. I have found that larger stick powders will occasionally bridge in the slower of the 2 drop tubes, so I keep a piece of wire about 6" long with a small hook on the end to insert into the tube and break up those powder bridges when they happen (not often at all).

Re: Need powder dispenser advice
My first combo was a Chargemaster, it lasted for 3-4years but finally died. I received a Lyman DPS III as a gift shortly thereafter... worked once & never turned back on.... My hunting partner & I went in together & bought the Hornady Lock'n'load setup... it works, kinda.
The RCBS was by far the better of the three, the Hornady is notorious for overcharging.....
When either this Hornady dies of natural causes or I put a bullet hole in it, i'm going back to the Chargemaster.

Re: Need powder dispenser advice
The Lyman DPS system is a piece of crap. I went through 4 in one year before I decided to go back to using a powder measure. I'll keep happily using my powder measures until I can afford the chargemaster.

Re: Need powder dispenser advice
Thanks everybody, RCBS sounds like the best bet. I would not feel right selling the old one someone may hurt them selves.

Re: Need powder dispenser advice
ive got both the pact II and a lyman dps. Both have worked well. The lyman is a bit faster but I still prefer the pact. Ive just had it longer and im more used to it.
