Re: load development question.
Well, we got two out the 3 guns dialed in yesterday. one is still at shawns getting a brake installed, so we will have to do that one later. at any rate, one (mine) actually my wifes (her present for letting me get the edge built), really liked 90.5 grains. at 200 yards it grouped 3 into a nice 1.55 inch group, while the other loads went from a little bigger to about 3 inches for the biggest group. I went back to the bench and loaded up 15 more shells at 90.5 grains. Went back out shooting and shot several 3 inch groups at 100 yards that varied from .655 to .801 inches. The weather. so far I am very happy with that. the other gun (my father in laws) seemed to like 91 grains. The wind was starting to pick up, very little so we only got through the first round with his and we only shot at 100 yards. it group all the loads at 1.1 inchs or larger at 100 yards execpt for the 91 grains, it grouped at .781. we loaded up some more in that load, but didnt get to shoot them.
One wierd thing happed on both rifles. it shot the 90 grain load a couple of inches lower than the all the other loads. when it happed to me, I figured I had aimed at the sticker below, but the same thing happed when my father in law shot his. any ideas?
Anyway, I considered the day a success (minus the scope bite i got on my first shot) and I appreciate all the good info.
