How Much Brass Removed When Uniforming A Primer Pocket?

On Winchester .223 brass about 0.06975 grains per case.

This is 55.8 grains of shavings from a total of 800 cases. So now you know.

you would think that one day they would do this for us.or at least some of the higher end brass makers would.I hate to do that part of brass prep.just takes to long for the makeings of gooooood ammo.

Yup, even with the drill motor it would take roughly 20 minutes per 100 cases, and this wasn't messing around either. Now I need to trim/chamfer the mouths and deburr the flash holes. Phew! Good thing I work week-on/week-off.

Buy Lapua or Norma brass and you can eliminate this task; yes, they are that good.

On the cheaper brass, I remove just enough to seat the primer firmly. Too much produces loose primer pockets.
