How do all of the Match bullets compare?

I have used Bergers to kill 1 antelope and two desert bighorns. The J4 jacket worked very well on the antelope(1030 yards) and the first ram (803 yards) but worked only marginally well on the second ram. Yes, he died, but at 350 yards, the impact velo was still so high that the bullet fragmented badly.
From this, I would say use the J4 only if the range will be intermediate or long. Just my opinion.
