help with Remington 700 VTR

I purchased a slightly used VTR (shot Once) and now am frustrated because I cannot get a 100 yard group under one inch. I have shot factory loadsand numerous hand loads. I swapped the Bushnell for a Leupold I know is a good scope. The rifle is a one in twelve twist and was wondering what bullet weight others were finding accurate. Thanks Peashooter

Re: help with Remington 700 VTR

Peashooter is your vtr a 308 and does it have little vents on the stock by the barell? If so, my friend has one and had the same problem until he free floated the barell. This may not be the same gun so take it with a grain of salt.

Re: help with Remington 700 VTR

The VTR is a 308 Win. and has the vents. I have floated the barrel, but did not seem to help.
