I've had good results with IMR4831 in the 300WSM with 180 Accubonds and wondered if anyone used it with Bergers.

Any pet loads with 210 Bergers? Any powder used with good or great results

The 210s work extremely well in the 300 WSM. I've never used IMR 4831, but I've used H4831sc and it works great for accuracy but the velocity is mediocre. I've also used RL17 and IMR7828ssc. The 7828ssc load is one of the two most accurate loads I've shot through my WSM and at 2840 fps with a 210 it's nothing to scoff at. My other favorite load is the Berger 230 OTM with 7828ssc at just shy of 2750 fps. It's also a power load. In short, do some experimenting and don't listen to the guys that say you can't go heavy with the 300 WSM, because in actuality, they heavies open the doors of capability wide open for the little fatty.

Thank you, brentc.

I'm going to get some IMR7828ssc when I get back to my local shop. I saw it Monday when I was there. It shows up in my Barnes, Berger, and Nosler manuals rather frequently.

My RL-22 load is pretty accurate (.422'), but velocity is only 2622 avg.

Do you use mag primers with IMR7828ssc or regular primers since it's a ssc?

I use CCI 200 standard LR in Norma brass. For the 7828ssc I use 67.5 grains for the 210 load and the 230 load gets 64.5 grains. As always, start lower. These are right near the top.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

brentc, do you have a load for 200gr Accubonds? I'm going to pick some up along with some 7828ssc and see how it does. What bullet did you use with the 210 and how much 7828ssc are you using?

I've shot quite a few 200 ABs. They shot great with 63.5 grains of RL17 and 68.5 grains of 7828ssc. Start at .015 off the lands if your magazine allows. I use 210 Bergers with 67.5 grains of 7828ssc.

We loaded some 200Ab's @ 68gr so we'll see what happens. We don't have a chamber calibrator so I couldn't tell you the OAL to get .015 off the lands...
