H380 primer questions

I am loading for 3 rifles

With H-380 do I have to always use a Magnum primer some data says yes but Hogden doesn't mention it.

I have reloaded pistol, 45-70 and shotshells for decades but recently started reloading "shouldered" rifle cases.
in 22-250 (TC-Encore) I am not a good long range shooter but can keep 10 shots under 1.5 inches
I have been using H380 with REM or CCI magnum primers at around 38-39.5 grains the hotter loads require trimming almost every load. above 39.5 grains extraction gets real sticky. (the very Best accuracy is with sticky extractions)
The original load data showed Mag primers

about 36 grains of Varget FED LR primers don't shoot quite as accurately, groups 10-15% larger but the brass is more stable and no extraction problems

I have loaded H4350 in 260 & WSM and was going to try that in 22-250

Thanks from

Re: H380 primer questions

Personally Reloder 10x or Imr 4064 work best in 22-250, RE10x will get you over 4200fps with 35 grains, no pressure and superb accuracy. .If you in sistence on Hogdons try H335 or Benchmark.

Try H4831 in your 260.

Tty Imr4831 in your 300wsm.

H380 burns cleaner and gets a full burn with magnum primers, the only thing
i still use that powder for is my 250 Savage lever gun, and I use mag primers.
