H1000 For .280 Ackley

Anyone have any experiance running H1000 in the .280 ackley improved? Haven't been able to find any load data showing H1000, but the burn rate should be compatible with this chambering.

I tried it in my 280AI, but mine didn't like it. I started at the max load for standard 280 and worked up from there. I think it might be just a little slow for the 280AI. I'm currently working with RL17 and so far the results are promising.

Thanks, I have heard a lot about the reloader 17 for the 280AI. Just trying to see if I could use anything I alresdy had on the shelf. Have been using Varget in the .223's. Might give that a try.

I've had good luck with H4831SC. My opinion is also that H1000 is probably a tad slow.

I tried h1000 with my ai.. loves it.. decent velocities.. nothing special at 2750... but shoots the 168 bergers and LRACCUBONDS into a .30 inch group at 200.. and very good results out to 1175.. I run a brux 26 with a 1/9 twist rate

Ive got a .280AI that I really enjoy. Tried H1000 with 160grn. Accubonds and 162 Maxes. Never could get what I wanted. I've got a 24" Kreiger 1-9 twist. It loves H4831 with Accubonds or Maxes. Will toss em between 2913 and 2919 consistently. I'm not gonna post my load data because it's a little warm. Just under primer cratering. Good safe load. H4831 meters much better. I'm sure it would do the same. I'm just running what I have.
    Joe.

61.9 gn H4831sc and 150 gn. LRAB through a 24" 1:9 brux gives you bug holes out a long ways.
