Re: Goodgrouper.....

I do not have any chucks here in ND but if I get a Jack Rabbit at 1500 + yards will that count? Good luck with your chucks guys. I am sure you both will be over the mile mark sooner then later just make sure to let us all know.

Absolutely! If you could get a big old jack at 1500 it would be probably the first time anyone had scored on a jack for the 15 club. It would be very difficult to get one to hold still after a miss, but possible of course.

Well I got the mile done (and then some) but we need the 2k chuck now.
Got this one back in April with the 338 Lapua improved (the moag)

Damn good shooting GG!!! I am going to try that 1500 yard jack with my 300 Win Sako TRG-S with a 200 Accubond. That rifle has been shooting in the .7's at 300 yards with 4 shots. I hope I have enough Accuracy for the task if not my custom 7mm STW will be done after X-mas. I want to see how far I can shoot these two cals and make kills consistantly with them. I know they are not a big 338 but I think I can stretch them to the mile mark. What range finder do you use? Right now I only have a Leica 800 so I need to upgrade.

Both of your guns will definetly make the mile mark. I have hit my 15" gong at 1 mile with surprising regularity with my 6.5-.284 and it has less speed (but roughly the same bc's).

For anything out to 1200, I use a Leica 1200rf. Past that, the Wild optical rangefinder gets pulled out. Then after the kill I will usually double check the yardage with a GPS.

    GG,

Well, there I went and did it, ordered my Wild rangefinder!!!

Is there any tricks to calibration of the rangefinder, how did you do it?

Thanks for the information. Guess we can't hit when we don;t know the range, off to the 20,000 meter club !!!!!
