Re: A good long range 22-250 load

Has anyone got the nosler 60 grain partition to shoot? I cant seem to get them to shoot for me. 1.5 to 2.5 inch groups with all kinds of powders, in my 223 ai, 22-250 ai, 22-250, or even 22-243. I really think they would me the cats meow on coyotes. Or maybe you know of another bullet that will hold together like a partition that i could substitute.

Thanks John

I would think the Nosler would shoot pretty good in a 1:12 twist barrel as it has a lower B/C than the Sierra and Hornaday 60 grain bullets. I've managed to shoot .62" groups with virtually no load development in the past. I honestly think the 12 twist barrel will do half inch groups in my rifles.

My 1/9'' 22-250 shoots the 60 grain Nosler Partition extremely well so far, the rifle is new so haven't had time to get past 200 yards yet, but things look promising with 1/2 MOA groups using a max charge of RL-15. Another bullet that has impressed me in this particular rifle is the Sierra 65 grain BTSP, that one has stayed MOA to 450 yards so far, again using RL-15.

several 600 yard f-class matches have been won with a savage 9 twist 22-250 and either a 75 or 80 grain bullet. i shoot 35.5 benchmark and a 50 balistic tip out of my remington . awsome on coyotes. i consider the 60 partiton a good deer bullet.
