FL sizing, shiny ring around base

I just purchased a new forster fl sizing die. I set it up per directions, turn die until touches case holder while press is at highest point, then tighten locking ring. When I size the brass it leaves a highly visible shiny ring around the base of my brass. I ran a paper clip inside the brass and feel no signs of thinning, some brass is only once fired. Is this normal or is there done adjustment I need to make? Thanks

yep it's normal, it's just a rub mark from your die squeezing the case back down at that point. If you start seeing a really .......whiteish ring then your gonna want to get the paper clip back out

Just seems really weird, because my old rcbs fl die never did this. Maybe I'll use a little more lube to see I'd that helps.

I've seen it happen with a few rifles, they where all factory chambers though. Just as long as you get in the habit of feeling the web area for thinness you should be ok.

Pick up a comparator with shoulder sleeves to check fired brass, then set die for a 1-.0002set back. This way you will not be overworking the brass
