First post, and I need advice from .257wby loaders please

I'm having a problems trying to work up a load for 100gr Barnes TTSX. I have imr 4831 and 7828 powders, and worked up a load of 68gr of imr 4831 and 100gr TSX with an oal of 3.167 that shoots 3/4" moa, and a load with 69gr of 7828 and 110gr nosler accubond set at 3.250 oal that shoots 3/8" moa. I can't seem to find a load for the TTSX that will shoot under 1-1/2" moa. I'm shooting a wby Accumark. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, does anyone have an oal that works for them using the ttsx?

I would PM Long Time Long Ranger and ask him. He shoots the TTSXs in his .257 Wby. I beleive he uses Ramshot in his(?). I shoot the regular 100gr TSX in mine with 72gr RL22 at an OAL of 3.180. Hope that helps.

I'm pretty limited on powders right now, the only powders I can't get around here at the moment is imr 4831, 7828, maybe some rl25 and a guy said he'd sell me some h1000 if I need some. I have a decent load with imr 4831 and the tsx bullets, 68gr set at 3.167 but my groups are spread out with the ttsx bullets.

This is my what I got with 110gr accubond with 69gr of 7828 pushing it



And this is what I have with the 100gr tsx and 68gr of imr 4831 pushing it



My groups with the ttsx have all been in the 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" range.

It looks like you're getting some vertical stringing. It's too much at 100 yards to blame on wild velocity spread so I'm suspicious of your barrel. Is your barrel floated?

I haven't done anything to the rifle. It's an "out of the box" Accumark.

That means its floated.

I had mine apart this week and I was surprised how much front-to-back play there is when the action is just sitting in the stock. That seemingly goes away when the screws are properly tightened but you know it's got to move a bit under recoil.

Check yours and see if it's the same. I know that it technically voids the Weatherby accuracy guarantee but I'd bed at least the recoil lug - I'll be doing it with mine.
