Case neck tension ?

Well I screwed up today on 10 rounds. I use a impact bullet puller & empted them, then reloaded them & noticed about half the force required to reseat bullet. Will this greatly effect performance ? New load for 264 Win Mag Nosler Brass IMR 4350 60.2gr CCI 250 Nosler 120 BT. COAL 3.26 .010 Off the Lands. Loads with Win Brass with 60.6gr IMR 4350 were spreading vertical at 300 yds for group size of 3.75 inches average. Will see if backing off powder & change of Brass helps

yes and no. I've done it and before and been fine, but if you have a load that is rather critical to neck trension(ie. it wants .003 undersize necks and a crimp) than no. Also don't mix 'em with rounds that haven't had the same treatment.

did you resize the brass once you pulled the bullets? If not, you should have. Anytime you do that it's like starting over with brass prep. You have to resize the neck to have continuity of load development.

No I did not resize it, it is new. I will just shoot it a 100 yds for practice. Yes I did keep it separate from other rounds. I plan on shooting them at 300 yds sighting in for Deer hunting.

Even with new brass, and precision ammunition, I recommend sizing all cases right out of the bag/box in your die so you start with consistency to begin with. Good luck and good hunting.

If you are not certain of the neck tension in your original loads, you may have no issues....

Before resizing that brass, get a neck expander from Sinclair or K&M, once the necks are open, resize and all should be alike. Vertical usually means your load has not been tuned. Work up or down .2 grains at a time, but watch for pressure signs.
