Anyone try Reloader 17 yet?

I'm especially interested in 300 WSM results. The advertised velocity for a 180 bullet is about 60-80 fps faster than I am getting now.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Anyone try Reloader 17 yet?

a lot of guys over at 6mmbr are using it in there 6BR,30BR, 6x47,6.5x47 and 300 wsm just to name a few. There have been quit a few treeds on the powder you could check them out.

Only thing I have see is it sitting on my bench waiting for the rifle to use it with. I have also heard a lot of guys saying it is hard to come buy but I have had no issues my guy has tones.

I tried it in the 300 WSM with the Barnes 168 Tipped TSX.

results are 3351 FPS and single digit ES and SD, and two MO whitetails last week.

Wow Bounty Hunter that's smoking fast.

What length barrel are you shoving that out of, I'm using some stout loads of 4350 and 414 to drive a 150 ballistic tip at 3300.

I have heard good things about the 17 can't wait to get to a place that carries it and get a pound to try.

Only 24" lilja 1-11.

the Alliant data shows about 3200 with the standard 168s and the barnes you can normally run 1-2 grains more powder than other bullets.

Yes it smokes and accurate. What more can you ask for in a 7.5 lb rifle?

Re: Anyone try Reloader 17 yet?

I wonder if this would be a good 280 ai powder or is the case to long and not fat enough.
Thanks,
T
