Anyone found a solvent that cleans up cases without having to tumble?
I am looking for some kind of solvent that will easily remove the black residue around the neck /shoulder area of a fired case.I have a tumbler, but don't really want to mess with it after every firing.I would rather just wipe them down with some kind of solvent sometimes, just to get them cleaned up prior to resizing.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mate, if you are after a quick/nasty, then just use a dab of CRC 5.56 on a rag and the black carbon comes right off - no hard rubbing or swearing...
give that a try.
cheers.

Problem with that is most products will leave a slight residue depending on what they are... Bad juju for extreme accuracy unless acetone for example is used to remove it.

If you're asking for something to remove the powder burns and carbon deposits from the outside of the case neck and shoulder area, I use KG-1 from KG Products line of gun cleaning solutions.
Never tried CRC 5.56 so no way to compare. KG-1 is a low odor low toxicity product that removes the carbon deposits quickly with relatively little fuss prior to resizing the fired casings.
