I use 70 gr. of retumbo under a 168 gr. berger @ 2980fps. This is listed as hogdons max load. I did however work up to 72 gr. a half a gr. at a time with no signs of pressure whatsoever. I should mention this is out of a 26" hart barrel and a trued rem 700 bedded to a A-5 mac. with this load I shot a 2-1/4" three shot group @ 675yds. last week. This is not typical!! usually I shoot around a 4" group at that range when I do my part. I actually had the best accuracy at 72gr. @ 3100fps, I did not feel that it was safe though, even though I did not see pressure signs. I only worked past my 70gr. load to establish that it was not a borderline unsafe load, which I feel it is not. I have shot this load up to 92 degrees with no trouble. as always start low and work up. AL
