7mm Rem Mag with Amax

I remember a while back someone posted a load that carried 1k energy at 1k yards, in 7mm RM with a Amax bullet. Does anyone have this load or one that carries that much energy at 1000 yards? 1000 at 1000 is better than other loads I've ever seen.

I use RL-22 loaded to just over 3000fps with the 162gr A-max. It is right at 1000lbs at 1000yds.

My 162g amax load is only going 2900fps, just shy of 1000 lbs at 1000 yards.

On the other hand, my 168g VLD at 3000fps has right at, or a litle more then 1000 lbs at 1000 yards.

Take your pick, either will do what you want at 1K.

168g VLD, 64g RL-22, R-P case, Fed 215, 3.450", right at 3000fps out of my rem 700 w/24" bbl. Shoots pretty good. At 100 yards it'll do .3"-.4". At 700 yards, off a bipod/prone, it did 5".

Killed my muley buck this last year at 618 yards, 1 shot. High shoulder shot dropped in its tracks and left about 2" exit.

Ohhh yah, thats why I dont shoot factory anything out of my guns. Handloading you get so much more performance all the way around.
