    Re: 60gr loads 223

The last time I tried to look up powder and charges and made a post didn't turn out so good. I'm still trying to figure that one out, hanging head in shame.

So I'll just give you a few links.

    link:
    Alliant Powder - Reloader's Guide

    link:
Nosler: bullets, ammunition, rifles, brass, and reloading data.

    link:
    Vihtavuori-Lapua.com

    link:
    Ramshot

I'd be interested in what you use, and any field data. I've got a Rem VTR 1-10 twist (I think) that I've been thinking about using 60gr noslers in.

    Re: 60gr loads 223

Talked to the people at Nosler about their 60gr ballistic tip and they spoke of an exit hole
well as for animals that are shot would not want an exit hole, when shooting chucks or other
varmints no stray objects flying away from a target no exit holes, TOTAL FRAGMINATION or
    explosive on target.
Have only heard positive on the Vmax bullet both 55 and 60gr, the 60 would fly a little better
than the 55's and the 60's were a lot cheaper at the time..........

I have found my best load with the 60 V-max to be 25.5 gr. Varget and Rem SRBR primers. 2700 fps out of an M4. Very accurate. I developed the load using CCIBR primers and then tried the rems. They reduced the group size and almost eliminated the flyers. I have heard Federal Match primers are good also, but haven't tried them.
