6.5x47 Lapua

anybody here happen to know how many grains of water a case will hold? A 6x47 Lapua case will do in a pinch.

My fire formed 6.5X47 Lapua cases, hold 48.8Gr's of H2o.

I'll have to check it out, but I think that's a little more than a 30-30 Winchester case, and that's what I am thinking about for a hunter's benchrest gun. If I go thru it, I'll neck the cases upto 30 cailber.

why not just go 30 BR?

rule issue. They case capacity must be the same as a 30-30 or greater. Otherwise I'd jump on the 30BR

a 30X47 Lapua makes for a very competitive HBR cartridge.

aha!! somebody's already done it! This tells me it's doable, and you start out with great quality cases. Now I need to start hunting around for a donor action. Rules also say it has to have a magazine well, so I'm thinking a Remington is the place to start (there is also a weight issue as well).
