I know there is quite a few threads already on this but I wanted an update on what everyone is running in their rifles? I currently have a load with 52 grs 4831sc pushing a 140 grain berger 2,880 showing slight pressure signs out of a 26" Brux. I have read in numerous threads about guys getting near 3,000 fps using retumbo out of a 26" tube. I want more velocity than I'm getting now. I called BOTW and their generic load is 56 grains of Retumbo, Fed 210, OAL 3.1", Lapua Cases and they are getting 2,975. So what are you guys running and what kind of velocity? Should I use standard or mag primers?
I just got the rest of my supplies for loading this round. I'm going to go with 215's and Retumbo. I hear over 3k is possible with this load but id settle for just shy if accuracy is there. I know not much help but I'm pretty new to reloading all together.
Aim straight, and shoot em in the lips.
I use 57-59 grains of Retumbo with Fed215, Lapua brass,. The 215's give the best ES out of my two rifles, 53gr.of H4831sc gives the best ES with Fed210M. I get 2941FPS with a 26" barrel. You should be able to get over3000FPS with a 26" barrel with Reumbo using about 59 gr. I'd work up to that though. Also, seating depth will make a difference in pressure and accuracy with the 140 Berger VLD's. Both of my rifles like .075" off the lands and there are no pressure signs with these loads.
