.452 bullets in .45-70

I accidentally loading some .452 diameter bullets in my .45-70 instead of .458 ones. Do i need to sell the box that i have and buy the right size or can i use that diameter. I am shooting them in a Magnum Research BFR if that helps any. Thanks for the help.

I'd trade them for the correct diameter. They aren't going to obdurate enough to be accurate.

I would get new ones .452s won't make a good seal and be slow and inaccurate. not only that but where the hot gas escapes between the barrel and the bullet in the grooves could cause damage enphasis on could. I thought about trying some 230gr .452 FMJs in my 45-70 handi but got no good feed back so never tried it.

I appreciate the help. I had another question. Could I do the opposite and resize a .45 pistol round like a .45lc or a .460s&w cartridge up to a .458 bullet and use that? If so it would be alot cheaper buying .45lc brasd than .45-70 brass.

Now THAT'S funny!

That's about like getting more plasma for the plasma cutter...
