338LM Load testing

I went out and tested some loads I put together for My Savage 110FCP, this handloading stuff is all new to Me but I have gotten some great info from folk's on here and other places. here are some I shot today.

I was also shooting some rounds I had loaded with 300grOTM's over 100gr US869 with a C.O.A.L. of 3.781, had some sticky bolt issues but no brass stuck in the chamber, did however have one case neck split. This is the 3rd firing for all My brass (HSM).

Re: 338LM Load testing

I have also noticed markings on My brass after firing, they run parallel to the case and run from the extractor groove to the shoulder, Is this normal?

I'd check the chamber for crud or a shaving. You might want to make sure its very clean.

Re: 338LM Load testing

I had taken it to My Smith a few weeks ago and had Him polish the chamber, the marks are really thin and continuous the whole lenght from groove to shoulder and they go all the way around the circumference of the case. I'll take a picture of one and see if they will show up.
