I have a load figured out for my 338 Lapua which shoots amazing. I'm shooting out of a Savage 110BA with a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 scope. The load I'm using is 79g of IMR 7828 with 300g Sierra Matchking HPBT bullets. OAL is 3.728", and I'm using Federal 215 primers.
The accuracy is great with success out over 1100y (thank you Shaun and Bob Carlock) but as Bob put it I'm "ballistically challenged" with a muzzle speed of only 2500 fps. I'm torn whether or not to change this load to get a little more speed. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good load for this particular rifle, or an opinion on whether I should change this load at all?
