Re: 338 Based on 300 WM Case

I'm looking at the saami specs on the cases of the 300 WM and the 338 WM and they are very close. Why does the 338 have so much more recoil?

If shooting equal weight bullets do they kick about the same?

No info on it at Pac-Nor. Did my own research on it and turns out that the 700 action is the only one long enough to hold it.

Anyone have a comment on the recoil issue?

Isn't the .338 superior to the .308 as it relates to BC?

Tom,

What do you mean? I just use Pac-Nor (and so as http://www.gmdr.com/rcbs/cartlist.htm) as a reference that .338-.300 WM does exist. I'm sure the pros will chime is soon.

Not necessarily true, i.e.,

.308 200gr NAB, BC = .588 (Nosler: bullets, ammunition, rifles, brass, and reloading data.)

vs

.338 200gr NAB, BC = .414 (Nosler: bullets, ammunition, rifles, brass, and reloading data.)
