338 300 grain Accubond Update
Looks like Midway had them but did not last too long.
Here is an update from JD 338
from the 338 RUM.
27" penetration in ballistic gel

Re: 338 300 grain Accubond Update
From Nosler..............
Got my box of bullets today in the mail! Thought I'd post up some pics for you all. I will likely make it out tomorrow to do some testing....more to come on that later.

Next to a 300gr SMK
http://www.flickr.com/photos/74987342@N04/6991013927/Load data that was included in the box (was rather disappointed in the data provided considering they didn't include either Retumbo or H1000 for the Lapua Mag)

And the other side of the load data sheet

Re: 338 300 grain Accubond Update
That's excellent info. POP, keep us posted as to how well they shoot.
Just like all NAB I expect it to be very accurate.
Thanks for posting!

Re: 338 300 grain Accubond Update
So, just curious, why shoot the accubonds instead of SMk??
Is there a difference in bullet construction or performance? Looks to seat just as deep so powder space must not be a concern...
Thanks

Bet that puppy pushes back pretty good. Thanks for the info....me and Nellie love them 185 GMX Superformances, don't use a brake-yet.

Re: 338 300 grain Accubond Update
Do Noslers published numbers look low to anyone else?

Re: 338 300 grain Accubond Update
Nosler's BC numbers are generally exaggerated...
I found their 180 grains Ballistic Tips not to be a .500 as they advertise... they went subsonic and tumbled at 1000 yards, even though launched at 2650 fps, which should have easily gotten them to 1000 yards, but it didn't.
So I doubt pretty seriously these will fly as well as the 300 SMK's, but they'll likely be better hunting bullets of course.
Just sayin'... the .720 BC may, or may not be right.
