300 Win Mag & Bergers

Anybody running the VLD's out of a 300 Win Mag?
Looking for some load suggestions with the 190 gr and 210 gr VLD's.

I get sub 1/2 MOA with 190g VLD, with 82g H1000. Shooting single shot. Loaded just to touch the lands. In a Savage 112 26" Varmint Stainless fluted barrel.

Only a guess, but I'd say a tad bit over 3000fps.

Max load from Hodgon is 81g and 2990 fps.

I'm right at what I would consider max load for me. Easy extraction, but primers flatten. I loose the primer pockets at about 5-6 loads. I've been using plain Rem brass.

I use 82gr of H1000 and 84gr of Retumbo with 210's. With CCI primers both yield just over 3000fps depending on temp. With Fed GMM primers velocities increase 30-50fps.

In my 300 Wby 79 gr of H 4831 puts the 190's at just over 3000 with a 26". I know that is not a win mag, but it might give you a starting place .

I'll have to try the 4831 and H1000 both. I'd like to see those 210's running 2900 - 3000 fps.
