Re: 300 win load

I have asked on the Nosler board a bunch, but not the Hodgon board. If they are a responsive as Nosler, then:

Re: 300 win load

DB,
I am loading H-1000 with a 168 TSX.Great load!Called and talked to a Hodgdon tech and he says my load should be completely safe and within their pressure limits.I have worked up to 83 grs.If your careful and have a good chronograph you can probably do the same with the 168 CT.

Re: 300 win load

Start at 81 grains of H-1000 as this is what I am shooting behind the 180 TXS it is the most consistent load that I have shot with an estreme spread of 5 fps.

Re: 300 win load

I have a maximum load of 81.5 grain using Hornady 180 BTSP so you could start with that and work your way up. H-1000 is very stable powder. It's my favorite powder for my 300 Winchester Model 70 Laredo.

Re: 300 win load

I am loading 81.5 gr H1000 with 175 gr Berger VLDs and SMKs currently. I loaded up to 83 gr without pressure in my rifle. Use those loads at your own risk. OAL is 3.660"

Re: 300 win load

Is there a problem with REL 22 on heavier bullets? It seems to be popular with 300 win mag users, but not many recipes with the 180 grain plus bullets.
