.300 Ultra, H-1000, Accubond, Partition loads?

Hello,
Just getting back into reloading and would like to do some load development for my Remington Sendero SF II chambered in .300 Ultra for an upcoming elk, black bear, and mountain lion hunt. Up until now I have only shot factory loaded ammunition with this rifle. To save some time, money, and frustration I was hoping you all could share some of your favorite pet loads. I would like to use what I have on hand if possible. I understand Hodgdon Retumbo is a good performer with this caliber as well. However, I do not have any of this on hand currently. Comfortable range for me is currently around 750 yards plus or minus with this rifle.

Thank you all for your time,
Brandon

What I have on hand, I would like to use the following if possible:

Remington once fired brass
CCI 250 Magnum primers
Hodgdon H-1000, I have 3lbs. of this that I would like to use up
200 grain Nosler Accubonds
200 grain Nosler Partitions

Re: .300 Ultra, H-1000, Accubond, Partition loads?

Nobody? Surely somone has loaded this combination before, please share your results if you have I would appreciate it greatly.

After looking at the Nosler Reloading Manual #6 for load information they are giving a low of 88.0 gr. (2927 fps, load density of 88%) mid of 90.0 gr. (2988 fps, load density of 90%) and a max of 92.0 gr. (3042 fps, load density of 92%) for H-1000 using these two bullets. 26" barrel and OAL of 3.600" I am leaning towards the 90.0 or 92.0 gr. load to start my testing, what do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Brandon

Re: .300 Ultra, H-1000, Accubond, Partition loads?

I bought a can of H1000 for my 300RUM, and only played with it a little. I was messing with accubonds, and for some reason, I never could get consistant accuracy with them like I can with partitions, in any of my guns. Im loading retumbo(doesnt help you I know) behind 200gr partitions now. I've heard that even though you get factory ammo speed or better with retumbo, H1000 gets you low ES and greater accuracy in alot of guns. I plan to try and burn some of mine in my 7mm mag to see how it does. As others will say, follow the reloading manual, and use starting loads, and approach max carefully. There is a guy on the hunting.net forums that had some RUMs and had nothing but praise for H1000 in the 300RUM. You might go on there and do a search.
