Opps, detachable mag box? That could be hot depending on your chamber dimentions. I would load a few up at 72, 72.5, 73 and 73.5 one of each to shoot first. That way you can work up to the 74 if all is good.

Sorry, never loaded them that short in RWS. But better safe than sorry

Re: 30-378 Wby Mag & 300 Win Mag Loads Needed

Thanks Jeff, I ended up not shooting the 300 loads, I'm gonna reload them like you suggested. Both 300's (mine & dads) are Rugers. What COAL do you normally load your 300's with the 210. With the COAL i'm going to have to use, is that going to work with the 210's seated that deep? Or would I be better off going to a different bullet?

What speeds are you seeing out of your 300 and 30-378 loads?

Thanks

That load in a 30-378 with a 26" tube will be about 3050. The 30" tbe I shot it in was 3120.

The 300 load , depending where you end up will be 2850 to 2900 or a bit over.

The 300's we are shooting now are custom chambered with a longer throat. So my coal will not apply. I would just shoot some and see how they do. All the Rem Senderos I have shot them in shot them very well.

Thanks Jeff. What is your COAL on your 30-378 loads? Are you shooting out of a factory Weatherby Accumark anymore? Thanks

Daniel

I sold both my 30-378 Accumark and the 30-378 30" custom. I now shoot the 300 win custom with 210 Bergers.

The base to tip OAL of the 30-378 for both of them was 3.800" That was .020" shorter than the mag box.

.300 Win loads-
FWIW My rifle with H1000, Hornady 208 and 225 BTHPs liked 79 grains for the 208s and 78 grains for the 225s, respectively. This was done with a PTG .300 Win Match chamber, Rock Creek 10" twist barrel, R-P Brass and FGMM Primers. 225's going 2887 out of 26" barrel with SD of 7. Slight flattening of primer and ZERO ejector mark.

Previously I used 73.5 RL22 under 200 Accubonds in a different rifle, 2823 FPS.
