30-378 And Bergers

I have a friend that has a 30-378 and wants to try out some Berger 190gr VLD's but somewhere along the early days of him starting to reload for this rifle somebody told him to never load it into the lands like the Berger's like to be. I would love to hear your comments on this. he's worried about throat erosion.

Thanks For The Help
Kevin

Re: 30-378 And Bergers

If he is worried about throat erosion he should get a 308. I would try Berger 210's my 300 WBY loves them. I have them .020 off the lands.

I do not think seating depth will have any impact on throat erosion.
