30-06 Load Data
Has any one loaded the 30-06 Rem 700 22" barrel with 168 VLD Bullets using
Reloder 17 Powder? I have messed around with this a little and got 2900 fps,
but have a little work to do with getting the groups to tighten up.
Curious to see if anyone out there has had any positive results.

sure- 50.5 of varget. lapua brass, 210m. 1/2 inch out of one, 3/4 out of the other. 2820. you can get more velocity out of 4350 and re-17/19 according to the manuals. i need accuracy. roninflag

Re: 30-06 Load Data
IMR4350/57 gr using 150 grain hornady BTSP out of my 30-06 is a new combo i've tried the past couple days and man-o-man out to 300 yards and close as 100 it's the round i've been looking for.. sure dread the buck standing broadside at any range this season that's within' the 300 yd. mark

Re: 30-06 Load Data
I agree with Roninflag on needing accruracy.
H4350 here. 56.5 grains, Lapua brass, CCI primer, smk 168. Less than 1/2" at 100. Farthest I have gone so far is 600 yds and am still sub MOA (under 6")unless I do something wrong (misread wind). Took the rifle to a local shoot with this load and placed. Very happy with it. 2880 fps.
Loading for a buddy of mine, 57 grains H4350, Rem brass (YUCK), wolf primer, 150 SGK. Under 1 MOA consistently, even with his brass.
I know it is not the powder you were looking foranswers on, but you might want to try it.

Re: 30-06 Load Data
you might also want to remember that H4350, IMR 4350, and AA4350 have different burn rates. AA4350 is the fastest (not a large amount), and with a 22" barrel it might work better for you (59 grains is max in the book). Also H414 looks very good in the book

Re: 30-06 Load Data
Thanks,
I'm pretty much going to stay with H4350 now. I like the Extreme Powders for what they bring to the table. I'm really close with finishing the load now.
I will say after messing around with RL-17 it was surprising, giving me 2900 fps from my 22" barrel. It just needs more attention in seating depth to tighten the groups I was getting.
