This .280 Ackley Brass Issue, Whats up?

So whats up with this .280 AI brass issue. I read that some that have .280AI dont shoot the Nosler brass because of a lenght issue and that resizing and fireforming from Lapua 06 brass can be a problem. I did get lost in the Tecknical aspect of it all and did not understand most of it. So I would guess that it really comes down to fireforming with Remington Brass, or does Norma make .280 brass......................Keep it simple, Im new to this.

    Greg

Nosler make both the 280 Rem brass and the 280 AI brass

I use the Nosler 280 Remington caliber brass in my 280AI shown in the 2nd pic

But I think everyone makes 280 Remington caliber brass except Lapua: Remington, Winchester, Norma, Nosler

Bottom line you are always safe using a 280 Remington caliber brass for fire forming in any 280AI chamber, old or new. If you have an older 280AI chamber then best not to use Nosler 280AI brass, although it can be done as illustrated in my first pic

So, with new .280AI chambers like the Cooper's you can use the Nosler brass without any problems?

But 30-06 brass is to short to use in making up the .280AI Brass?

Yes that is my experience although Cooper cliam their chambers are original ackley.
You can use lapua 3006 if fireformed properly but it will end up shorter in the neck by .050 give or take.
    Left to right
3006 laupa necked down to leave a false shoulder so the case is held firmly against the bolt face. Fromed lapua case and a nosler 280ai.
While the fireforming loads shot very well I found it much easier to just use the nosler.

Yawn, the Nosler brass appears to expand further up the case (near the base) than the Lapua does...Or is that just an optical illusion, or shadow playing tricks on my eyes?
