dmgreene,

How do the bullets look after recovery or do they usually pass through?

"I have been shooting both the 130gn Ballistic Tip and 135gn SMK. I have tried various powders/primers (H4831SC,RL22,IMR4350,H4350/CCI BR2,9.5M) and my rifle pretty much groups everything I've tried in the half inch range. Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. I think it likes RL22 the best so far, but I have many more to try in her before we're done!"

What gun you shooting?

I'm also looking to try some of the 140gn bullets (NBT,AB) and I think Barnes is coming out with a 120gn TSX. (I think they already have a 110gn) Those'll be screamers! I may try the Scirocco's and the VLD's that Berger is getting ready to hit the streets with soon.
I haven't chrono'd anything yet, but I will as soon as I can.

700XCR,
Hey neighbor! I live in RIchland off'a Keene. We have been getting some snow, huh? I thought this was normal for this area (just moved here in Aug07) but everyone says it's a bit much.
Were you ever in the Navy? I knew a guy in A school in Pensacola, Fl that had the same last name as you. Lost track of him over the years.
It's snowing again! JohnnyK.
This is the most snow that we had in years. The pass is closed alot this year going over to the westside. I was not in the Navy. Born and raised her. Only went to Az. for tech school for a 2yrs. Yes it is snowing again.

Tikka Lover I have only recovered 2 of the bullets. One was out of a 210 lb buck at about 100 yards. It entered in the right front shoulder and I found it in the front of the left rear ham. The recovered bullet weighed 85 grs. The second one was recovered from a smaller buck that shot through both shoulders and was found just under the hide. This deer was shot at 15 yards max(not exactly long range hunting) and it weighed 65 grains. Both bullets were mushroomed with the cores intact. All others have been complete pass throughs. These bullets tend to shed weight very early at impact in my experiences with a lot of meat damage. Most of the time its bang flop, and if not I haven't had any problem recovering the deer.

I am shooting Berger 150 gr vld's, remington brass, remington mag primers, 56.5 gr of H4350. Average fps around 2900.
Total case length 2.745. The bullet needs to be touching the rifling.

Edited the total case length for me is 2.845
