I just recieved a box of Berger 150gr. VLD bullets from Midway yesterday. I am going to give them a try.Going to try AA Magpro and Ramshot Magnum powder with Winchester cases and magnum primers.

I have loaded some shells with four diffrent powders, I will be shooting them soon(weather permitting) and I will post the results. I would also love to hear anybody elses experiences or tricks with the 270 WSM especially in the Tikka T3 which I have. Thanks

140 Accubonds
60.0 grains of IMR 4350
Winchester mag primers
This load is running 3100 fps with 3/4" groups from a factory Rem. 700.
I don't think you will find a better bullet for deer in a 270 caliber. You don't have to worry about bullet performance at close or long range. I have killed between 20 to 30 deer with this bullet and haven't had any problems.

gei,
I have been shooting both the 130gn Ballistic Tip and 135gn SMK. I have tried various powders/primers (H4831SC,RL22,IMR4350,H4350/CCI BR2,9.5M) and my rifle pretty much groups everything I've tried in the half inch range. Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. I think it likes RL22 the best so far, but I have many more to try in her before we're done!
I'm also looking to try some of the 140gn bullets (NBT,AB) and I think Barnes is coming out with a 120gn TSX. (I think they already have a 110gn) Those'll be screamers! I may try the Scirocco's and the VLD's that Berger is getting ready to hit the streets with soon.
I haven't chrono'd anything yet, but I will as soon as I can.

700XCR,
Hey neighbor! I live in RIchland off'a Keene. We have been getting some snow, huh? I thought this was normal for this area (just moved here in Aug07) but everyone says it's a bit much.
Were you ever in the Navy? I knew a guy in A school in Pensacola, Fl that had the same last name as you. Lost track of him over the years.
It's snowing again! JohnnyK.
