270 WSM with 110gr Accubond
I am planning on loading the 110gr Accubond but there is no load data on where to start.
It is for my Dad's rifle and he plans on maybe a coyote or two and our small blacktail deer.
Anyone with a load program that could run the numbers for me?
Thanks

Re: 270 WSM with 110gr Accubond
I've no experience with that load so I can't tell you exactly. I do have a Hornady manual (7th ed) that lists loads for the 110gr Vmax and HP bullets. It could help you narrow down the powder selection and hopefully get you a place to start.
Powder Start Max Velocity
RL-15 47.5gr - 56.9gr 3400fps
H4350 53.8gr - 60.1gr 3300fps
IMR 4350 56gr - 64.5gr 3400fps
Viht N-160 56.5gr - 66.7gr 3400fps
That's all the loads they list in the manual.
Have fun and be safe. I hope hop this helps,
Chris

Re: 270 WSM with 110gr Accubond
I worked up a load that seems to shoot really well, 54.2 grains of Varget over the 110 gr Accubond.
Shoots pretty well, normally 3/4" at 100 yards. Smokin right along about 3550 fps.
We need to see what happens when it hits something. I will keep you posted.

Re: 270 WSM with 110gr Accubond
I'm going to drop-in on some 110 grainers after hunting season and work up some coyote medicine, I can't get 140 Bergers to open up on them. I saw some 110 v-max's yesterday but I was kinda wondering if they would hold up to WSM speeds or how much coyote will be left if they do hit. Might be messy
