Re: 270 Winchester loads with Berger 150gr hunting VLD

I did complete the load this week it's 56.7 Gr of H4831SC, rem brass, and GM210M primers. I have an ES of 14 an SD of 4 and an average MV of 2888fps for 10 shots. My ES went up a bit from last time but I can live with this. Seems very, very accurate.

If you're lucky enough to be able to seat the base of the bullet, boat tail or flat base, no deeper than the base of the neck, you may wish to try 7828ssc. The ssc is much smaller than the RL-22 thus a bit more bang for the buck.

You can't get enough 4831 in the Winny case to cut the mustard. 60 gr of 4831 was a pretty severely compressed load in my rifle and resulted in well under the magic 3000 fps w/the 140s. 4831ssc may be a bit of an improvement.

Nearly 59 gr of RL-22 produces just under 3200 out of a 27" Lilja. Which seems like enough for a 270 winny.

With the 150 I'd really be interested in what 7828ssc would really do.
