It would be amazing in the 7mm RUM with heavier bullets, +175 gr would be best in my opinion but it will also work well in the 160 gr class.

It is a ball powder and as such it is sensitive to temp changes. Some do not like this but I feel the positive characteristics of this powder outway these issues.

If you want to load to full tilt pressures, have a summer and winter load, or if your like me, just load a few grains under max and be happy with that.

It is however sensitive to temp changes but no more so then any other ball powder from what I have seen.

Those are my feelings exactly....Do you happen to know if savage makes an action that is long enough to handle it?

I have been debating between a 7Ultra, and a .338 edge....I think either one would be a good long range hitter.

i've had both cartridges and the edge is by far a much better round.

    DontKickDontKill,

Savage at one time offered the 300 RUM in the M111 receivers. Would work great for the 7mm RUM. They are pretty short in length for the 338 Edge with long range bullets.

I believe they have since been dropped from the line.

Thats what I was afraid of. I think I could build one single shot, but not as a repeater. If I would build either one I would shoot 160 or 175's in 7mm, and if I shoot a 338 it would be the 300SMK....So thats that. Maybe I will just use this old savage I got and build a 25 gibbs.....Now thats the ticket.
