I had no luck with Varget in .308 averaged 0.67" on 100 yards, but I is very consistent in .223 averaged 0.28", I also tried RE-17 couldn't get MOA out of it.
Thanks for the info every bit of info helps. I called Berger Tech service and recieved a list of loads by email for just about every bullet made by Berger. It appears the Ramshot Hunter might be a good choice, it has a slow burn rate and the velocity is really good at over 3000 feet per second at max load with 175 grain VLD. The IMR 4320 had really good standard deveations in the single digits between 7 and 9 but the velocity was low and that powder is dirty.
I am trying all these different loads because I joined a shooting range with 1000 yard range. You must qualify to shoot on the range by shooting at 300, 600, 900, and 1000 yards demonstrating ability to dope your scope to hit the berm behind the target. Coming up short for them is a no no and going over the berm, well I don't know how they would react to that, but it wouldn't be good!
