Wind meter query

As a relative new comer to the long range pursuit, I have just purchased a fairly cheap wind meter. I was hoping to be able to get a good handle on wind speed using a meter before I start estimating without.

Am I best to use the AVG wind speed function or just the regular wind speed?

Re: Wind meter query

Regular or current wind speed is the number you want to use.
