What should I do

Hey guy's, I bought a cooper in a 6.5x284 just yesterday and was wondering what I should do for a barrel break in. I've never realy broke in a barrel properly I just kind of shoot it to get it sighted in, clean, check zero then ready for hunting or load development. thanks

Re: What should I do

I have the same rifle. Cleaned after each shot, both carbon and copper until the amount of patches diminished - can't recall how many shots that was. My barrel is very easy to clean up and it shoots better than I can hold it.
Good luck, you made a great choice for a long shooting rifle. My rifle likes 140 A-Max bullets and H4350 or Ramshot Magnum powders.

Just clean after every two or three shots until you've got about 30-50 rounds down the tube. You'll know when your done.

Screech,
The literature supplied with your Cooper has a description of the factory reccommended barrel break in process.
