What about a .270 for long range hunting/target?

I agree, it's the bullets. Just never been any good long rangers for the 270 or the 8mm although both are good calibers. Killed both of them for the long range guys I guess. As the bullets are developed the guns will follow. I have shot a 270 wby for over 30 years and made some really long shots with it. Have 2-3 now. I haven't shot them in a few years because all the good bullets were popping out in other calibers. With the good bullets now they will come out of mothballs.
