Shooting at steep angles.

My uncle and I were discussing how you have to hold low when shooting at steep downhill angles, but he thought you should hold high when shooting uphill. I have heard different from other people, but no one could really explain the reasoning. Anyone know why point of impact is low when shooting up and downhill shots?
