Savage BA10

[Ludicrous]

Got a Savage BA10 two weeks ago. Mounted a Trijicon 5-20 scope on it. After putting 30 rounds downrange on zero day at 100 yards, I'm impressed. Nearly every group was three holes touching. Largest group was .7 with my rusty shooting skills. Also shot my very first batch of hand loaded ammo that day! Winchester brass, CCI BR2 primers, Hornady AMax 155 grain and Varget powder. Can't wait to get home and shoot it again at distance. One question, at what range will I need a 20 MOA scope mount on this rifle?



Next project is a flatter shooting caliber in a hunting rifle. Either a 243 or 6.5 Creedmoor. Leaning toward a 243 right now.

(Need a 20 MOA rail).........When you run out of elevation 100 yards is like shooting knock down clowns at the local fair. Get serious with some distance.

I'm assuming that is a .308?? I'm really not sure when you would need a 20 MOA rail. But I have a 308 and used Burris Z rings that you can adjust MOA with different inserts with in the ring itself.

I used the 10 MOA ring and will run out right around 1000 yards. I have about 31.5 MOA adjustment from my 100 yard zero.

Actually, the 10BA comes chambered in 300 Winchester Magnum, 308 Winchester and .338Lapua (long action). Insanely heavy (15 3/4 pounds) with no optic and a 0 MOA cant rail on the 300 and 308. The 338 comes with a 20 rail standard and it has a steel hinged wallet price of $2394 MSRP.

The 300 and 308 is 1-10 twist, button rifled and the .338 is 1-9.

Add A 2 pound optic and another pound for a bi-pod and you are almost at 20 pounds with 4 in the magazine....

.........and I thought my 11-111 was stout.
