Savage 111 300 RUM

I was looking around at Gunbroker.com and saw that there is a Savage 111 FXP3 300 Ultra Mag over there. I have been looking for a long range gun. It will be my first so I wanted to see what all of you thought. Would this gun come out of the box shooting good. What would I have to do?

It's like anything, it may it may not. To get the most out of any situation is to find the load that the barrel likes, in other words to experiment with powders, primers, bullets etc. To progress from there is to glassbed, true the action, sleeve the bolt and the list is endless. It all deppends on what accuracy do you want. You should be able to get 1.5" from a factory rifle and less if you'r lucky.
